Arturo Coello / Agustín Tapia vs Federico Chingotto / Alejandro Galán

A new and thrilling final showdown between the world's leading padel pairings once again delivered maximum excitement. Fresh in the memory was the last decisive clash, where Chingotto and Galán lost largely because their opponents subjected Ale to enormous mental and physical exhaustion, pressure he was unable to cope with back then.
On this occasion, the script began differently: the first set clearly showed how Fede and Ale consistently targeted Agustín Tapia, forcing him into errors and leaving Arturo practically out of the game. The key moment arrived in the tenth game, when the world number two pairing achieved the longed-for break and took the set to a high-tension tiebreak. There, sticking to their plan, they continued to pressure Tapia, who accumulated errors at decisive moments, allowing Chingotto and Galán to take the first set. That comeback in the final stretch and the tiebreak victory provided an enormous emotional boost for the challengers.
In the second set, the great tactical shift emerged. Arturo Coello's most powerful weapon, the smash from the back court, became less decisive: the balls returned "alive" towards the net, and Ale Galán, very alert, converted them into winners with relative ease. Seeing the situation, the pair adjusted their plan and turned the pressure directly onto Arturo. Aware that his smash wasn't working, he frequently resorted to his second most characteristic resource, the "bajada de pared" (back-wall drop shot). Although it got him out of trouble sometimes, a lack of consistency penalized him once again.
It was noticeable that Arturo lacked that spark of offensive power that usually makes a difference. The accumulated fatigue from the tournament may have weighed on him, but the environmental conditions also played a role: the night in Düsseldorf was rainy with a 92% humidity, which "heavy-weighted" the balls and made powerful hitting from the back even more difficult.
Despite everything, it is fair to congratulate the champions. Ale Galán not only strengthened his mental fortitude in final matches, reducing the number of unforced errors and emerging as the match's MVP, but the pair also showed great tactical flexibility, adapting better to the circumstances and always finding a way to punish the opponent's weak points. This strategic intelligence and solidity in key moments explain why Chingotto and Galán were justly proclaimed winners today.
